Current Activities

For over 40 years, connecting Japan and Mexico through music.
Active in educational lectures, concerts with Camerata Aguayo (a chamber ensemble of professional musicians and former seminar students), and concert tours to Mexico and Germany.
With a wide repertoire ranging from medieval and baroque to contemporary music, hosting numerous international exchange concerts based in Nagoya.

1974 Served as Dean of Aguascalientes State Music University for 4 years
1979 Invited by the German government to hold workshops for music teachers
Became instructor at the Rhein-Hunsrück Music School, Germany
1982 Founded the Instituto Aguayo Music Academy in Germany
1984 Founded the Instituto Aguayo Music Academy in Mexico
1986 Opened a branch in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture
1987 Music specialist instructor at Tatsumigaoka High School, Ishikawa Prefecture, promoting the Aguayo Method
1993 Launched the Aguayo Method Seminar in Nagoya
1994 First International Seminar held in Metepec, Mexico
1996 Founded the Instituto Music University in Mexico
1997 International Keyboard Seminar held in Guanajuato, Mexico
Long-standing concert tours and international exchange with seminar students and performers across Japan, Mexico, Germany, and beyond
2018 Coro Convivium Musicum from Mexico visited Japan; hosted the Nagoya–Mexico International Exchange Concert
2020 Sheet music for the recorder quartet “The Four Seasons” released to the general public in Japan for the first time
2023 Held the Aguayo Music Seminar in Mexico
2025 Resumed concert tours to Mexico after the pandemic; performed in Aguascalientes, a city associated with Ponce

The Aguayo Method

A unique music education method based on the principles of Kodály, Orff, and Dalcroze, combined with Montessori educational philosophy.
Students learn music theory, solmization, harmony, counterpoint, rhythm, singing, recorder, and movement education in an integrated approach, pursuing "beautiful music."
